ALUMINIUM ANTI-SEIZE  is a Highly efficient Aluminium Compound Mounting / anti-seize paste.This product is a high temperature lubricant designed to be used in a wide variety of industrial applications as a general purpose grease or high temperature lubricant. It is a general aluminium enhanced lubricant paste offering improved durability, reducing wear ａnd extending component life at elevated temperatures.

 

Product Description

Top quality anti-seize has more metal （active ingredient） ａnd little grease. This makes it thick ａnd pasty. As metal is more expensive than grease, poor quality anti-seize is often a can of grease with a sprinkling of copper flakes.

Contrary to the opinion on the street - copper flakes are not a sign of quality. Copper （Cu） is a relatively inexpensive filler that often the consumer expects to see but it is an inactive ingredient compared to Aluminium.

For most applications, Aluminium anti-seize does a better job than Copper anti-seize as Aluminium is a much more reactive metal then copper ａnd more reactive than steel or Iron （and more expensive unfortunately）.

Thus, if there is any electrolytic activity in the joint （water）, it （Al） will offer some sacrificial protection to the iron or alloy as it will always corrode before Iron. In the case of Copper, the copper is almost inert （wild copper can be found ion the planet in metalic form） so offers no sacrificial protection. If anything, the copper will tend to push any chemical oxidation in the direction of the steel or alloy ａnd hence damage the joint, but this effect is not regarded to be significant （see table below - the metals which are higher will corrode before the metals which are below it in an electrolytic （salt） solution）.
